Bro — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Bro collects, why, who else gets it, and how you control it. Bro is the Telegram bot @BroWorksBot and the site bro.works.

1. Who is responsible

Bro is run by the Bro team ("we").

2. What we collect

From Telegram: your Telegram ID and language.

From setup: your currency and, if you give it, your name. Bro uses the name only to tell your own transfers from payments to other people.

What you send: screen recordings, screenshots, receipt photos, voice messages, text and statement files.

What Bro creates from it: your transactions, categories, tags, rules, accounts and debts, and your corrections.

Payments: amount, date and status, and the reason you give if you ask for a refund. We never see your card details.

Usage: how often you use Bro and which link brought you to the bot.

Bank sync, if you turn it on: your bank accounts and the transactions your bank shares with Bro.

3. Why we use it

• To run Bro for you.
• To take payments and handle refunds.
• To protect Bro from abuse.
• To see which channels bring users and to fix errors.

The first two are needed to provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract). The last two rest on our legitimate interest in keeping Bro working and safe.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads.

4. Who else gets your data

Only the services Bro needs to work:

• Anthropic (USA) — AI that reads your inputs and answers your questions.
• OpenAI (USA) — turns voice messages into text; backup AI.
• Hetzner (servers in Finland, EU) — the server and database.
• Cloudflare (USA) — carries the traffic to bro.works: the site and the bot's My money screen.
• Telegram — delivers messages and processes payments in Stars.
• Stripe (Ireland and USA) — processes card payments, when the bot offers them.

Under their API terms, Anthropic and OpenAI do not train their models on this data. Transfers to the USA are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Visits to the site bro.works are counted by Plausible (Estonia, EU), without cookies. It does not store your IP address or anything else that identifies you.

monobank sync works directly with your bank, with no other service in between. Other banks, where the bot offers them, connect through Enable Banking (Finland, EU), a licensed account information service that passes your bank's transactions to Bro.

We may share data if the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

• Files you send (photos, recordings, voice messages, statements): read and not kept. A recording uploaded through My money is deleted from our server as soon as it is read; one left behind by a failure, after 48 hours. Telegram keeps its own copies under Telegram's privacy policy.
• The text of your messages and of your voice messages: until you delete your account.
• Conversation context: your last 20 messages and Bro's replies, for two hours.
• Account, transactions and payment records: until you delete your account. Telegram and the payment provider keep their own payment records, as the law requires of them.
• After you delete your account: your Telegram ID and the date your access ends, with no time limit, so that the free month is given only once. Nothing else.

6. Your control

• Export: you can export all your transactions to Excel at any time, even without a subscription.
• Delete: the /delete_account command deletes your account and all your data, except the record in section 5.
• Bank sync: you can turn it off at any time.
• Other requests: to see, correct your data or object to how we use it, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

If you live in the EU, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

7. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections. A bank token is stored encrypted, and the message you pasted it in is deleted. Only the people who run Bro have access to the server.

8. Age

Bro is for people aged 18 and over.

9. Changes

We will tell you about important changes in the bot before they apply.
